Being an independent business owner is the dream of many. It allows you to set a flexible work schedule and have the possibility of earning a lucrative income.
Having an interest in health and beauty products, can make selling Forever Living Products real appealing for anyone with this dream.
I am going to share with you information about Forever Living Products MLM Program and see if it is as good as it appears.
What Is Forever Living Products?
Forever Living Products is a privately owned, multi-billion dollar MLM company that manufacturers and sells hundreds of wellness and beauty products all around the world.
They use direct selling or MLM (multi-level marketing) to sell their products.
It was founded in 1978 by Rex Maughan, and has its headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona.
They are accredited with the Better Business Bureau, and have a A+ rating.
Forever Living does their own research and development, have their own fields where they grow the aloe vera for their products, and their own manufacturing of the products. Nothing is outsourced.
They produce products that they say, will help you look better and feel better, focusing on drinks, weight management, skin care, vitamins and supplements, personal care, essential oils and more.
Forever Living Products
Forever Living has been in business for over 40 years, so they must be providing something of value for their customers.
Most of the products are aloe based, and more recently they have also added bee products.
Their focus products are listed below, with several products in each category.
- Immune Health
- Bee Products
- Weight Management
- Skin Care – including lotion and sunscreen
- Personal Care
- Essential Oils
None of the products are FDA approved, meaning that you can’t make claims about the products curing anything. It is not unusual for the products to not be FDA approved though, since they aren’t an actual medicine.
The pricing of Forever Living Products is similar to other comparable products. They have a reputation of being fairly and competitively priced.
I would caution you though, these products are also available from Amazon, so you would be competing with the largest online retail store around.
How To Get Involved In Forever Living MLM Program
Most people that join a MLM program come from word of mouth. You could get invited to a Forever Living party from a friend or co-worker, similar to a Tupperware, Mary Kay or Avon party. There would be a FBO (Forever Business Owner) at the party that would be giving a demonstration of the products.
The Forever Business Owner would earn a commission from everything that was ordered at the party, but they will also be trying to recruit others to become Forever Business Owners as well.
You can become a Forever Business Owner from joining at a party and the FBO would become your sponsor, or you can join directly from the Forever Living website. They will assign you a sponsor after you provide your name and location.
What Is The Cost To Join Forever Living MLM Program
It is free to sign up to the Forever Living MLM program, but it comes with a catch.
Once you join their program, you will be required to purchase products. According to Forever Living’s Terms and Conditions, you will need to purchase 2 CC’s (Case Credits). You will receive 1 case credit for every $214 in sales. That means just to get started, you will have to spend $428.
There are no free samples for you to use, and you will need to either purchase this amount each month or have sales totaling at least this amount.
How Much Money Can You Make Selling Forever Living Products?
Becoming a Business Owner, you will need to sell as much product as you can and find others to recruit or sponsor as well.
The more people you are sponsoring the more opportunity you have for earning money.
There is a criteria that you will have to meet to be eligible for earnings. As an Assistant Supervisor, you will need 2 personal and non-manager case credits for 2 consecutive months. The more case credits you get within those months, the better discount you receive on the products and additional bonuses.
You will also earn a percentage of any sales your recruits make. Check out the image to see how this tiered system works.
I will caution you though, most people don’t really make much money.
In 2018, according to Forever Living, 88.6% of purchasers globally did not receive any meaningful compensation or earnings from Forever Living Products. (You can look at Forever Living Income for their own disclosure. I will not link you directly there, since it isn’t considered a secure site.)
Only 11.4% of monthly purchasers earned the volume-based bonus. Of those, 69% of these earned an average of $105 per month or $1263 per year in bonus earnings.
Pros And Cons Of Forever Living
- The more you sell, the more you can make, there is no income cap.
- Discounted products – your discount increases as you sell more products.
- Tools and training
- Local events
- Hundreds of online materials available
- Available for purchase through Amazon – that is steep competition.
- Reported false claims of products curing certain aliments. Since it is not FDA approved, you are not allowed to make these type of claims.
- Need to invest almost $500 immediately to get started, before you are even sure if this is the right path for you.
- Pressure to sell products and find recruits.
My Opinion Of Forever Living MLM Program
I do believe that Forever Living is a company that is providing a good product, but joining their MLM program is not how you will get financial ahead. Forever Living MLM is not a scam, but like most MLM companies, very few people really earn any money with their programs.
Take a look at one report from a stay at home mom on her experience with Forever Living. She was looking for a way to earn an income that provided her with a flexible schedule around her children. It ended up being just the opposite.
Your income from Forever Living will not only depend on your sales efforts, but also the recruits that you have brought into the company. That can lead to a lot of pressure for all of you.
Recommended Alternative To Forever Living MLM
Not everyone is suited for this type of pressure, but still are looking for a way to have your own business with a flexible schedule.
The Forever Living Products MLM program can be a high stress job with low rewards.
There are other ways to start your own business from home where you don’t have to rely on others for your success. It can even be in the health and beauty field, or any other field you have an interest in.
You can take a look at how to be a stay at home mom and make money online. This would be my number one recommendation. Becoming a marketing affiliate will allow you to run your own business, work a flexible schedule and not have to rely on others for your success.
