If you have received an email or phone call inviting you to apply for a job with Amazon, it is a scam. Over the past year, there has been an increase in the number of people that have been affected by the Amazon Cash Websites Scam.
Please read further to learn about the scam, how to protect yourself from scams and how you can legitimately earn money from Amazon working from home. At the bottom I explain how I earn money from Amazon with my own business.
What Does The Amazon Cash Website Scam Look Like
If you are being targeted with this Amazon scam, you have most likely received either a phone call or an email inviting you to apply for a job with Amazon. They will state that Amazon is hiring dozens of people, and you need to act fast before all the positions are full.
What your responsibilities would be could vary from several types of work, but the most reported positions are being responsible to post products online, post reviews, give you websites that will run on your own and to do some website work.
Reports vary on how much they state you can make, but range from $20 per hour up to $6000 per month, and you just need to work a few hours per day.
They will provide you with fake testimonials of others who have quickly acted on this offer, how much they are earning, and how they just need to work a few hours per day.
They are hoping that you will think it sounds like a perfect job, having a career with a famous corporation where you can make thousands of dollars a month.
They will even provide you a picture like the one below, making it look like it is an actual news broadcast and include owner, Jeff Bezos to make it seem legit.
Reports to the Better Business Bureau have been steadily increasing over the last year of people getting scammed with these job offerings for Amazon.
The biggest problem is that people have reported that they have paid between $47 up to $200 for a required enrollment kit that you must purchase before starting your job. Once you pay the money, they are gone and there is no actual job. They are tricking victims into paying hundreds of dollars for a job that doesn’t even exist.
They have also created what looks like a real newscast showing the opportunities that are available. It seems like it would be very real, when in fact it isn’t.
If the opportunity that you have been presented doesn’t look exactly like this one, don’t be fooled. They change around the cost to join, the job description and also the companies, in an effort to keep finding unsuspecting people to take advantage of.
Here is a short list of some of the known websites that are part of this scam. The URL addresses are always changing as one program gets shut down, so it is hard to know what URL they are currently using.

How To Protect Yourself From A Scam
Unfortunately, there are thousands of scams just waiting to take advantage of an unsuspecting person. They may be scams that approach you, or you may unknowingly contact a scam yourself.
Here are some ways to help you spot a scam or protect yourself from a scam:
- Asked to share personal information. They may use the excuse that they need your banking information to set up your account for direct deposit or your social security number to check your credit rating.
- Asked for money for training or materials. Most legitimate companies will provide training for new employees.
- Only a few positions available, so you must act quickly.
- Be cautious of work at home jobs that advertise earn large with little work.
- Check out the business’s website or call them directly if someone contacts you for something you haven’t applied for. Unless you have a large business network, it is rare to be approached for a job offering.
- Block unwanted calls or check with your provider if they can block phone scams.
Legitimate Amazon Jobs
Amazon has thousands of jobs available at any given time. Most of these jobs require you to work at one of their facilities, but they do have jobs that are virtual locations. You can search for job type and locations right on their site. They don’t always have jobs that you can do remotely, but I have searched it before and found opportunities of interest.
If you are interested in working for Amazon, I recommend you contact them directly to find out what job opportunities they have available.
You can also work from home selling Amazon products as a marketing affiliate. I have a different website that I have developed that is a niche website relating to dogs where I sell Amazon products on my website. I make a commission every month from Amazon on the products that my website sells. You can learn more below.
Making Money Online From Home
People are always searching how to make money from home, heck I searched that topic for a few years before I started my own websites. From experience, I will caution you on this search. I mainly found bogus information and several scams along the way.
Once I started searching making money online, I am not sure if I mistakenly clicked something, but my email inbox started exploding with all kinds of offers, none of which seemed legitimate. Most of them required that I pay money to earn money (a concept I will never understand). I even started getting phones calls and have no idea how they got my phone number.
I finally decided on becoming a marketing affiliate by creating a website. This was after searching how people where making money from a website. Needless to say, I had no idea how to create a website or how I was going to earn any money with my website. All I had was a dream to succeed doing this.
I had some stumbles along the way, and got scammed by a program I signed up for to learn how to create a website. But that scam turned out to be a good thing. I didn’t do my research before signing up, which I should have. After the fact, I did do research that lead me to a program I do endorse.
I joined Wealthy Affiliate, which is a program that gives you training on becoming a successful marketing affiliate, the tools you need to create a website, and 2 free websites to get you started.
You can join this program for free by just providing an email address. Giving you full disclosure with this program, they do have a premium membership available also, but you can decide at a later date if you ever want to join that. I did join the premium membership, but only after going through several training videos and creating my first website.
This gave me the ability to check out the community first, see if the training had value and realize that the program wasn’t a scam. Take a look at this Wealthy Affiliate Review to learn more about their program.
There are honest and legitimate ways that you can earn money from Amazon, but the Amazon Cash Websites is a scam. At the beginning of the article I included a link to different options for earning from home with Amazon. Take a look for other ideas.
You also have the option to check directly with Amazon for positions they have available or starting your own business by creating a website and selling Amazon products on your site as a marketing affiliate.
Being a marketing affiliate isn’t a get-rich-quick plan and takes lots of work, but your earning potential can be unlimited, you work the hours you want, and you have the opportunity to earn 24/7/365 for years to come on the work that you do now.
Try to protect yourself from the scams that are out there by reviewing the list above of what should be red flags before joining anything.
Good luck to you.
